Our board of directors has spent considerable time and effort in a visioning process over the last 18 months. Three areas of focus came out of that visioning process: programming, hospitality and marketing.
Programming was identified as critical to fulfill our mission of serving all people as a place to connect the word of God with the world of God, and providing that programing in an inviting and welcoming space. The visioning process identified four areas of emphasis in Camp Ewalu’s programming in meeting the future ministry needs of the people and areas we serve. Number one was increasing programmatic opportunities for families and intergenerational groups; two was to develop more environmental/creation emphasis in programs, especially by taking advantage of the natural setting the camp resides in; three is to increase our ecumenical outreach to touch a broader demographic and diverse population with attention to underprivileged individuals and families; four is to intentionally create programs focused on leadership development and creating effective partnerships with colleges, seminaries and other synodical and church-wide organizations.
In order to accomplish this vision, some major improvements to buildings and grounds are necessary. Before we move forward with any plans we would like some additional input from our supporters, users, friends, potential users and ministry partners.
Below is a link to a survey that will help us discern whether Ewalu is ready to move forward with the fundraising needed for improvements to our facilities. Your answers are completely confidential and will be processed by The Joshua Group, a resource development firm we have retained for a feasibility study.
Your feedback matters to us. Please take a few minutes to give us your input and prayer for good discernment. In this way we can move forward together through an informed and well supported direction to plan and invest in the future of Camp Ewalu’s ministry for many years to come.
God bless you and thank you for your help and support.
