Honor a loved one or family with an engraved paver at Camp Ewalu’s Creation Center patio
About the Patio
The paver patio at the Creation Center is a special space at camp! In the summer, it’s where campers gather to enjoy a treat from the Canteen each afternoon. It’s also a place of quiet contemplation and spontaneous worship as the sun sets on a pleasant evening. In fall, the patio benches are a welcome seat for the large crowd attending the annual Quilt Auction. And the patio is a place to honor loved ones as campers, staff, alumni and visitors read the messages engraved on the stones.
How to Order a Paver

2. Fill it out with the message you want engraved on the paver.
3. Return the form, along with payment for $250, to camp one of these ways:
- Mail to Camp Ewalu, 37776 Alpha Ave., Strawberry Point, IA 52076
- Call 563-933-4700 to charge to a credit card, and email a photo of your form to camp@ewalu.org
FAQs about Pavers
- Your engraved message can honor an individual, a couple, a group or a family.
- You can honor someone who is still alive (like Charlie in the photo) or honor the memory of someone who has passed away. Engraved pavers on the patio honor campers, summer staff alumni, volunteers, and families who love Ewalu.
- Each paver has 3 lines with a maximum of 20 characters per line, including spaces. Please fill out the form exactly as you wish your message to be engraved. Use a dash (-) for date separation: MM-DD-YYYY
- Each paver measures approximately 8.5 inches wide by 4.25 inches tall. Please contact the office to inquire about square pavers that measure 8.5 inches on each side. Call 563-933-4700 or email office@ewalu.org.
- When your paver is ready, our staff will set it into the patio. Please let us know if you would like the paver set in a certain area of the patio, and we’ll do our best to honor your request.
