Recording of Dr. Jeffrey Boeke’s October 2023 presentation on “Theory, Practice, and Benefits of Experience-Based Leadership Education.” Boeke, an Ewalu summer staff alumnus, is a faculty member at Luther College in Decorah and is globally recognized for his contributions in advancing the fields of adventure recreation, leadership studies, experiential education, and challenge course and zip wire programming. In his presentation, he discusses personal, professional, and academic considerations that connect life-experience to learning, leadership, education, and adventure. To illustrate this connection, he shares stories and examples to illustrate why the interest in leadership education is growing so rapidly in both higher education and professional development.
