SCHEDULE UPDATES for August 29:
CAMPFIRE update: NO campfire at Central Plains on Saturday evening; we will have the All Generations Campfire at Barred Owl ring at 8 p.m. We will have s’mores!
Weather announcement: The Color Run scheduled for 10 a.m. has been postponed to 2:30 p.m. today. The Grotto Gallop 5k at 9 a.m. is ON. Bring a change of clothes! The showers at the pool will be open. Plan to get wet and slip around the trails.
11:00 a.m. – Group photos will be inside at Cedar Lodge
11:15 a.m. – ADD Oral History Session for decades of 2000s and 2010s, in the Chapel
4:00 p.m. – (earlier start) Oral History Session for decades of 1980s and1990s
Join alumni and friends of Camp Ewalu for a weekend of events to celebrate camp’s 65th anniversary and to re-dedicate Cedar Lodge after the renovation project.
Schedule of Events:
FRIDAY:
4-7 p.m., Registration and Check-in, Creation Center lobby.
- 2MIT Burgers food truck for supper before the concert starting at 5 p.m. (please bring cash)
- Camp Store open, inside Creation Center
- Tour of Cedar Lodge, 6 p.m., meet at entrance
7 p.m.: Peter Mayer concert (details below), outside Cedar Lodge. Bring a camp chair or blanket! Open to the public! Free-will offering.
9:30 p.m. (after concert): Oral History Session 1 with “Newest Alumni” of 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s, in the Chapel
SATURDAY:
8 a.m.: Breakfast (please pre-register for this meal, using button below).
- MENU: Biscuits and gravy, eggs, hashbrowns, yogurt, fruit, cold cereal
9 to 11 a.m.: Lawn Games, base camp area, come and go as needed with other activities
7:30 to 9 a.m.: Grotto Gallop 5K Trail Run Registration (still on in the rain)
9 a.m.: Grotto Gallop 5K race starts, east edge of Family Campground. Please pre-register at THIS LINK, cost is $25 (still on in the rain)
Color Run now moved to 2:30 p.m.
10 a.m.: Oral History Session 2, Earliest Decades of 1960s and 1970s, Creation Center Chapel
11 a.m.: Alumni & Large Group Pictures, grouped by decade/year, Cedar Lodge
11:15 a.m.: Oral History Session ADDED for decades of 2000s and 2010s
Noon: Lunch (please pre-register for this meal, using button below), Cedar Lodge.
- MENU: Chicken salad sandwiches, chips, fruit, cold salad, lemon-raspberry bars
1 p.m.: Celebration Worship and Cedar Lodge Dedication, inside Cedar Lodge
NEW TIME: 2:30 p.m.: Color Run (geared toward kids), east edge of Family Campground, 1/4-mile loop at Pioneer Plains. Free white t-shirt! Please pre-register at THIS LINK, cost is FREE!
2:30-5:00 p.m.: Guided and Independent Activities, main camp area
- Cedar Lodge Tour at 2:30, meet at new entrance
- Wagon Rides every half hour from 2:30 to 4:00, meet at parking lot
- Nature Hike at 3:30, meet outside Cedar Lodge
- Orienteering at 3:30, Creation Center
- Rock Wall from 2:30 to 4 p.m., High Ropes area
- Independent activities anytime: Creek stomping, disc golf, hiking, gaga ball, volleyball, naps
4:00 p.m.: Oral History Session 3, the Middle Years of 1980s and 1990s
5:30 p.m.: Dinner, Cedar Lodge (please pre-register for this meal, using button below)
- MENU: Lasagna, breadsticks, green beans, Caesar salad, brownies
6:30 p.m. Coffeehouse Trivia, Cedar Lodge. Gather a team and test your knowledge of Ewalu history! Prizes for winning team. Snacks and coffee provided.
8 p.m.: All Generations Campfire, Central Plains campfire ring
Alternate campfire at base camp for those with young children or limited mobility, Barred Owl campfire ring
SUNDAY:
9 a.m. Brunch, Cedar Lodge (please pre-register for this meal, using button below)
- MENU: Egg bake, croissants, cherry turnovers, cereal, fruit, granola
During the day: Independent Activities. Please check out of cabins/lodges by noon, but feel free to explore at camp all day before you “go in peace to love and serve the Lord.”

PETER MAYER CONCERT
Friday evening, August 28, 2026 – See Peter Mayer in concert at Ewalu! Peter will play an outdoor concert at base camp (weather permitting). Concert ticket is included for those who register for the anniversary weekend; donation suggested for those coming to the concert only. All are welcome! No registration required. Bring a camp chair or blanket for the concert. Come early to enjoy the 2MIT Burgers food truck starting at 5 p.m. (bring cash) and take a tour of the newly renovated Cedar Lodge at 6 p.m.
